Band saw blade is the biggest consumable during the use of band saw machine. Improper installation and use will shorten the service life of band saw blade. What aspects should be paid attention to when installing and using band saw blade?
1. Before installation, check the direction of the saw teeth in detail to ensure that the cutting direction is consistent with the direction of rotation of the band saw.
2. Check whether the tooth profile and number of teeth/inch of the saw band are consistent with the material and size of the material being cut.
3. Adjust the tension of the saw band to be moderate. Too tight is easy to break the band, too loose is easy to break the teeth and cut diagonally.
4. The concentration of the cutting fluid is adjusted according to the material being cut, carbon steel is to be thin, and stainless steel is to be thick. And change regularly.
5. All new saw blades must be run-in before cutting. During the running-in period (15-20 minutes), reduce the feed pressure to 1/3-1/2 of the recommended value, and then increase the optimal cutting feed force in between.
6. When changing materials, raise the saw blade to a certain height to avoid breaking the saw teeth.
